Retainer Instructions
- Wear your retainer full-time unless your orthodontist says otherwise.
- Remove it when eating and always place it in its case—most lost retainers disappear during meals.
- Brush it daily with a toothbrush and lukewarm water. You can use Efferdent® occasionally, but brushing is essential.
- Always store it in its case when not in use—pets love to chew on them!
- Practice speaking out loud if it feels awkward at first.
- Handle with care. If lost or broken, contact us right away.
- Never try to adjust it yourself. Call us if it feels off.
- Bring it to your appointments.
- Avoid heat and damage. Keep it away from hot water, dashboards, napkins, pockets, and washing machines.
- Take it out when swimming.
- With proper care, your retainer can last for years!
